Pastor Jim graduated from Chowan College with an Associate in Engineering, from Mount Olive College with a Bachelors in Organizational Development, from Liberty University Baptist Theological Seminary with a Masters in Christian Leadership, and from Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary with a Doctorate in Christian Leadership.  Before finally accepting God's call into vocational ministry in 2006, he worked at Monsanto Company and Research Triangle Institute both in the Research Triangle Park, NC for a total of 40 years.  

When Pastor Jim accepted God's call into vocational ministry, he felt that becoming an Administrative or Executive Pastor was what God wanted him to do because of his business and management background.  The opportunities did arise but never came to fruition.   However, he has served as Interim Pastor, Senior Pastor, provided pulpit supply at many churches, and has advised pastors and lay leadership of churches in transition.  That go to show that God doesn't always tell us what He expects of us all at one time.  Sometimes, He just tells us what we can handle at the moment.  

Pastor Jim's life verse or worldview verse is 1 Corinthians 10:31, "Therefore , whether you eat or drink, or whatever you do, do all to the glory of God." (NKJV)  That covers everything.  As Baptists, we love to eat, and we love to drink water and iced tea.  

He met Kaye, his lovely wife of almost 53 years, at Chowan College.  They have one son, Greg, and three wonderful grandchildren, Alex, Grace, and Josiah.  Greg met Jennie, his lovely wife of almost 21 years at Campbell University.  Like father, like son!  Because He Lives, Jim
